When We Talk about the Weather

When I bring up the weather,
it's my awkwardness taking the lead,
and I unconsciously let it slip
'cause you're too precious for a short conversation.

When I grumble about the cloudy day,
I worry the plan we carefully made together
might vanish alongside the upcoming rain.

When I exclaim about the sudden heavy rain,
I feel relieved somehow,
'cause it means I have a good enough reason
to stay a little bit longer.

When it's sunny outside and I rejoice,
my mind becomes the busiest one:
lost in thought, thinking of the best place to go
or the coziest spot to hide from the scorching sun.

So, when it's you who tell me a thing about the weather,
it makes me wonder:
in what way does it means?
