In five years..

I'm not sure what scares me more...

What will happen in five years:

that nothing changes much,

or that everything turns upside down.

We naturally want the good things to stay as they are,

and the bad things to change—to turn around.

But I don't even know where the fine line between good and bad lies.

Not now,

nor in five years.

So maybe the real issue isn’t whether things will change or not.

Maybe I’m just scared of the unseen—

of what the future holds,

of the things I’ll have to let go of someday,

and the things I’ll need to be patient with until the day comes.
